About cardhouse
cardhouse is run by Cardhouse Ventures LLC, a California limited liability company. We sell real, individually identified Pokémon cards in randomised digital packs, and everything else on the site — the Vault, the buy-back, the shipping, the odds — exists to make that one thing trustworthy.
What you are buying
Every pack is a fixed list of real printings with a published probability for each. When a pack opens, the cards it reveals are yours: specific printings, in the condition or grade shown, held in your Vault under your name. Nothing on cardhouse is a picture of a card standing in for a card.
Tokens are how you pay for packs. They are sold at 100 to the dollar, they are spent only here, and they are not money — they cannot be withdrawn, and neither can anything you pull. Selling a card back to us pays tokens, at 100% of its listed Value, instantly.
Where the cards come from
Every card we sell is genuine secondary-market product. Graded cards come in the grading company's own slab with its certification number, and are described by the grade on that slab, never by a grade of ours. Ungraded cards are described by condition on a stated scale.
We are a small company and we do not keep a warehouse of every card in every pack. When you ask for a card to be posted, it is sourced for you from the open market — the printing, condition and grade you were shown — checked, packed and sent. That is why shipping takes the number of business days quoted on the pack page rather than a day, and why cards you have not asked to ship stay in the Vault at no cost.
How the odds work
The full list of cards in every pack, and the chance of each, is published on the pack's page before you pay, to anyone, signed in or not. Before a pack opens the server commits to a secret seed by publishing its SHA-256 hash; your browser adds a seed of its own; afterwards the server's seed is revealed, so you can re-derive exactly the cards you received. The Odds & Fairness page explains it in full.
Every Value on the site is a recorded secondary-market price for that exact printing and grade, from a dated snapshot shown on each card. It is an estimate of what a card sells for, not a promise of what it will sell for.
