Frequently asked questions

How cardhouse works, whether it is legitimate, and what happens to the cards you pull.

Is cardhouse legit?

cardhouse is run by Cardhouse Ventures LLC, a California limited liability company. Every pack lists the cards it can contain and the exact chance of each feature card before you pay, the cards are real, individually identified printings that are yours once pulled, and every opening can be re-verified afterwards from its cryptographic proof. A person reads every support message. See About cardhouse and Odds & fairness.

Are the cards real?

Yes. Every card is genuine secondary-market product. Graded cards come in the grading company's own slab with its certification number and are described by the grade on that slab; ungraded cards are described by condition on a stated scale. Nothing on cardhouse is a picture of a card standing in for a card.

How does opening a pack online work?

Pick a pack and read its odds. Before it opens, the server commits to a secret seed by publishing its SHA-256 hash; your browser adds a seed of its own; the cards are drawn from both, and the server's seed is revealed afterwards so you can re-derive exactly what you received. The cards go straight into your Vault, under your name.

How much do packs cost, and how many cards are in one?

Packs run from $5 (Ember) to $2,500 (Apex). Every pack for sale holds 5 cards: one feature card drawn at the published odds, plus 4 companion cards. You pay with tokens, which are sold at 100 to the dollar. Compare every pack.

What are the odds?

Each pack's page lists every card that can be its feature card and the exact chance of each, how often the pack's cards come to more than its price, and the least a pack can hold. The odds are read from the same table the draw reads, so a pack cannot advertise one pool and open from another. See the odds for every pack.

Can I have my cards shipped?

Yes, within the United States. When you ask for a card to be posted it is sourced for you from the open market — the printing, condition and grade you were shown — checked, packed and sent, which is why shipping takes the number of business days quoted on the pack page. Cards you have not asked to ship stay in your Vault at no cost.

Can I sell a card back?

Yes — instantly, for 100% of its listed Value, paid in tokens you can spend on more packs. A card's Value is a recorded secondary-market price for that exact printing and grade, from a dated snapshot shown on the card.

Can I cash out or withdraw money?

No. Tokens are spent only on cardhouse: they cannot be withdrawn, transferred or exchanged for cash, and neither can anything you pull. There are no cash prizes. What you can take out is the cards themselves, posted to you.

Is there a free pack?

Make an account and a $5 Welcome pack is waiting in it — real cards, the same published odds as any pack you buy. No deposit, no card, nothing to enter. One per account. Whatever it pulls is yours — keep it in your Vault or sell it back for 100% of its Value in tokens. Having cards posted to you needs a deposit on the account first. Then, on your first deposit: Put $25 or more in for the first time and we add a free $25 Odyssey pack — the same cards and the same published odds as the one you paid for. One per customer.

Who can use cardhouse?

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter contracts where you live. cardhouse is intended for residents of the United States, and ships within the United States.

How do I pay?

You buy tokens through Stripe's secure checkout — by card, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them. cardhouse never sees your full card number.

How do I contact cardhouse?

Use Support in the app, or email support@cardhouse.live. A person reads every message, and anything about spending or closing an account is handled first.
